Is one of Spain’s most renowned contemporary philosophers. Chair of Philosophy at the University of Barcelona and spokesperson for the PSOE in the Education Commission of the Congress of Deputies. He has also been a visiting professor at European and American universities. As author of thirty philosophical essays, he has been awarded the Premio Anagrama in 2005 (Malas pasadas del pasado [Tricks from the Past]), the Premio Espasa in 2010 (Amo, luego existo [I Love, Therefore I Am]), the Premio Internacional de Ensayo Jovellanos in 2012 (Adiós, historia, adiós [Goodbye, History, Goodbye]) and the Premio Unamuno in 2016 (La flecha hace blanco en la historia [In History, The Arrow Hits the Target]). He was president of the Izquierda Federalista (Spanish left party) in Catalonia, being one of the most reputable thinkers of El País, El Confidencial and other publications. [Spain].
